Developing Procurement Capability at Seplat Energy

We recently had the privilege of partnering with Seplat Energy, delivering a tailored Procurement and Supply Processes training programme to two cohorts of professionals over a two-week period.

This bespoke training was designed to strengthen procurement capability across the organisation, with a focus on both core principles and future-facing practices. The sessions were highly interactive, combining expert-led content with practical discussions tailored to Seplat’s strategic goals and operational context.

A Strategic and Practical Learning Experience

The programme explored the entire procurement lifecycle — from initial planning and specification development through to sourcing, supplier management, and contract performance. Emphasis was placed on aligning procurement practices with wider business objectives, while also introducing tools and techniques to manage commercial risk and drive value.

A standout element was the incorporation of AI and digital innovation in procurement, helping learners explore how technology can enhance decision-making, efficiency, and strategic outcomes.

“The AI aspect of this training is the best thing ever. It made me rethink how I work and opened my mind to future opportunities.

Excellent Feedback and Impactful Delivery

The training was led by SRSCC tutor Greg Jackson, whose engaging and insightful approach was consistently praised by learners. Across both cohorts, feedback was outstanding:

  • 5.0/5.0 – Satisfaction with the tutor
  • 4.8/5.0 – Perceived learning from the course
  • 4.8/5.0 – Overall course quality

Participants described the course as insightful, practical, and directly relevant to their roles:

“The training content and delivery were valuable. The course provided practical insights into managing complex contracts and real-world challenges like regulatory compliance and long-term projects.”

“Greg is a great teacher. There was a good mix of learning and real-life scenarios with brilliant analogies.”

“The course challenged my thinking and gave me new perspectives on how to approach procurement more strategically.”

Supporting Seplat's Development Goals

At SRSCC, we are proud to support organisations like Seplat Energy who are committed to developing their people and driving excellence across procurement and supply chain functions. The energy, engagement, and collaboration shown by learners throughout both weeks made this a truly rewarding experience.
