The Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) scheme is designed to support lifelong learning for Armed Forces personnel.

What is ELCAS Funding?

At SR Supply Chain Consultants (SRSCC), we are proud to support members of the Armed Forces in achieving their professional development goals through the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) scheme. This initiative is designed to promote lifelong learning by providing financial assistance for eligible courses and qualifications.

The ELCAS scheme is a Ministry of Defence (MOD) programme aimed at encouraging lifelong learning for Armed Forces personnel. It offers financial support for higher-level learning, enabling individuals to gain nationally recognised qualifications that can aid their career progression, both within and outside the military.

How Does ELCAS Funding Work?

The scheme provides funding for up to three years, with two tiers of support based on the length of service:

  • Tier 1: Up to £1,000 per year
  • Tier 2: Up to £2,000 per year

 

Up to 80% funding from ELCAS and a minimum of 20% to be paid by the individual.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for ELCAS funding, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed at least six years of military service
  • Be either a current member of the Armed Forces or a Service Leaver

How to Apply for ELCAS Funding

The application process for ELCAS funding is straightforward and involves the following steps:

  1. Register: Active service members can register through their Education Staff, while Service Leavers should contact their Single Service Representative (SSR).
  2. Claim Authorisation Note (CAN): Once approved, you’ll receive a CAN to use when booking your course.
  3. Select a Course: Choose an approved course from an ELCAS-approved provider. SRSCC’s ELCAS provider number will be required when applying for our courses.
  4. Enrol: Submit your CAN to secure your place and begin your learning journey.

CIPS Courses Learning Methods

Independent Learning Zone

This includes course videos and revision sessions for each module plus formative assessment from our CIPS qualified tutors and practitioners. 

Our online Independent Learning Zone includes structured teaching throughout breaking the sessions into bite size pieces making it easy to follow. Learners can work at their own pace through learning outcomes. 

The voiceover makes it unique to any other distance option on the market allowing the content to come to life with many real-life examples and guidance on best practice. The content is easy to follow with the links learning outcomes and formative assessments including assignment, quizzes, and questions throughout. 

Constructive feedback on assignments and exam techniques is given on all work submitted. The ILZ system tracks the learners progress through the unit. 

In addition, all learners have access to other resources such as revision guidance, revision sessions, self-test questions plus additional resources.

Live Virtual Classroom

This includes 2-day real time online classroom workshops with a fully qualified procurement practitioner who will bring the theory to life with real life practical examples. Covering all modules and learning outcomes leaving the learner full of confidence to tackle the formative assessments and prepare for their examinations. 

This delivery option also benefits from live virtual classroom revision sessions and access to our fully comprehensive Independent Learning Zone (ILZ) which includes course videos and revision sessions for each module. 

To ensure quality and value we operate maximum class sizes. All course modules are delivered by our experienced team of procurement practitioners who are MCIPS/FCIPS, Chartered Professionals and CIPS assessors.

Classroom

This includes 2-day classroom workshops at your chosen location with a fully MCIPS qualified procurement practitioner who will bring the theory to life with real life practical examples. Covering all modules and learning outcomes leaving the learner full of confidence to tackle the formative assessments and prepare for their examination. 

This delivery option also benefits from live virtual classroom revision sessions and access to our fully comprehensive Independent Learning Zone (ILZ) which includes course videos and revision session for each module.

However, it is worth mentioning that learners utilising the Independent Learning Zone (ILZ) may progress at a quicker pace and potentially complete the course in a shorter timeframe, possibly within 6 months.
