Supporting Woodlands Animal Sanctuary

In October 2024, our Sales and Marketing Team had the privilege of spending a day volunteering at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides a safe haven for neglected, abandoned, and injured animals, offering them the care and support they need to thrive. As a team that values community and compassion, we were excited to roll up our sleeves and contribute to their vital work.

This day of volunteering not only allowed us to give back to the community but also strengthened our bond as a team.

Meg's Walk It for Crohn's and Colitis

Imagine living with a lifelong condition that many people have never heard of. That’s the reality for SRSCC Learner Engagement Mentor, Meg, and over 500,000 others in the UK living with Crohn’s and Colitis. These debilitating conditions can profoundly impact a person’s life. This is why Meg participated in the My WALK IT challenge in June to support Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Meg raised an impressive £270 and walked over 45km in aid of this fantastic charity!

Meg’s effort not only raised funds but also spread awareness about these conditions. Her dedication and miles walked are a testament to her commitment. With every step, she helped shine a light on Crohn’s and Colitis, showing support for everyone affected. Big congratulations to Meg for her incredible effort and for making a positive impact!

Amy's 10k Race for Life

In June 2024, SRSCC Business Development Account Manager, Amy, and her friends took on the 10k ‘Race for Life’ and raised a huge £977 for a fantastic cause. It was a big deal for Amy since it pushed her way past her usual comfort zone. Even though the race was tough, Amy and her friends powered through and made it to the finish line. Big kudos to Amy and her friends for their dedication and effort!

Their adventure wasn’t just about running; it was also about having fun and supporting each other. Their hard work and positive vibes not only helped raise money but also showed everyone that with a bit of grit and a lot of heart, you can achieve amazing things. Great job, Amy!

SRSCC Admin Team volunteer at RSPCA East Lancashire Branch

At SRSCC, every team member is granted one day per year to contribute to their local community or a charity of their choice, fostering a positive impact beyond the workplace.

This year, our Admin and Finance Team rolled up their sleeves to help out the RSPCA East Lancashire branch with a much-needed makeover. The task at hand involved painting and the removal of an old, worn-out building that had seen better days. The goal was not just to improve the aesthetics but to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for the animals in the shelter.

The collaboration between SRSCC and RSPCA East Lancashire is a testament to the importance of corporate social responsibility and community engagement. We are proud to have been a part of this initiative and look forward to future opportunities to contribute to the welfare of our community.

Alzheimer's Society- United Against Dementia

SRSCC Owner, Susan Rashid, cycled over 100 miles in the month of September to raise much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

She covered a total of 106 miles in 11 and a half hours, raising £175 in the month of September.

International Charity Month- September 2022

In September, we celebrated International Charity Month by having a competition within the SRSCC Team- whoever covers the most distance through any form of sport- running, football, netball etc, will received £250 to donate to a charity of their choice.

As a Team we covered a staggering 1,388.925km! However, our standout winner covering 235.7km was Emma Jackson from the Progress Mentor Team!

Emma’s chosen charity was Lancashire Women. They do fantastic work creating a Lancashire where all women are valued & treated as equals, being empowered to transform their lives.

Milly’s Smiles

Our Training Director Greg, and Progress Mentor, Emma, are running “Coast to Coast”, from Whitby to Preston on 25th and 26th August. The duo will run via 14 parks in a bid to raise money and awareness for Milly’s Smiles.

Milly’s Smiles provide a welcome bag, known as a Milly Bag, to each newly leukaemia diagnosed family admitted onto Ward 84, at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Ward 3B at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Ward L31 at Leeds Children’s Hospital and the Royal London Hospital.

Milly Bags contain items that will help during the first few days, and weeks, of their hospital stay. Along with this are items that will bring a smile to the faces of the children, and let families know that people are thinking about them.

Reaching Out

Michelle, a Progress Mentor at SRSCC and her son Zak, join Reaching Out every week, distributing hot food, cold food, drinks, clothes and toiletries.

Reaching Out is a charity initiative in the Liverpool area that is dedicated to supporting the homeless population of the city and surrounding areas.

To finance their crucial support in the community, Reaching Out hosts various fundraising activities and events throughout the year, including charity walks.

National Wear a Hat Day 25th March 22

Taking place during Brain Tumour Awareness Month, Wear a Hat Day brings people together, as they raise vital funds to facilitate further brain tumour research.

The SRSCC team is an enthusiastic bunch and as such, we didn’t hesitate to get involved. Mark Donald chose the weirdest hat to sit and work in all day, but Emma Jackson won for the most creative!
