Purchasing / Procurement source and acquire goods & services from external suppliers to ensure that Roxel UK can meet its customer needs in a results driven environment. The Procurement function manages the supplier selection process through to securing pricing; setting up supplier agreements for production items and purchase orders for all other non-production (Indirect) goods and services.
As part of the Procurement Team, the Purchasing Apprentice will provide a purchasing solution to provide the Business with a sustainable and competitive source for all business requirements. Duties will include:
- Providing a purchasing solution for the procurement function, including placing orders; obtaining quotes; and managing the purchase order.
- Assisting in resolving any issues with invoices in conjunction with the finance team.
- Maintaining strong & effective relationships with suppliers to be able to resolve disputes and poor performance.
- Carrying out the necessary transactions to place Purchase Orders.
- Supporting the Team in line with agreed standards and business processes.
- Taking responsibility for workload and priorities, and communicating with the Line Manager if any risks or issues arise.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings, measures and reports savings on a monthly basis.
- Providing efficient and effective customer service.
- Adhering to all Group Policies and Procedures.
- Undertaking any training and development activities outlined and agreed as part of your monthly / quarterly reviews.
- Taking care of your own safety and the safety of others at all times by complying with the Health & Safety Policy at all times.
- Representing the company in a professional manner at all times.

Knowledge/ Experience

Probrand Ltd are excited to announce an apprenticeship opportunity for an individual with a strong desire to kick-start their career in IT Supply Chain management. As an IT Supply Chain Internal Support Apprentice, you will be trained and mentored to perform various tasks essential for the smooth operation of their IT Supply Chain. This is a crucial role in ensuring Probrand provide their customers with competitively priced products that are suitable to meet their requirements, whilst ensuring timely responses and a meticulous attention to detail. This role includes responding to product inquiries from internal sales teams, sourcing IT products and services, negotiating prices, processing purchase orders, performing product administration tasks, and handling other general purchasing duties. Probrand are seeking a confident and motivated individual with a passion for learning, strong communication skills, and a willingness and desire to grow in a fast-paced environment.
Overview of the Role:
Customer Inquiry Management:
- Learn to respond promptly and professionally to inquiries requested from the internal sales teams regarding product availability, pricing, and order status
- Engage and confidently communicate verbally, orally and face to face, with suppliers and manufacturers
- Ensure solid attention to detail, whilst providing efficient and timely responses
- Gain experience in providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently
Product Sourcing:
- Receive training in researching and identifying reliable suppliers for IT products and components
- Engage with appropriate supply chain partners to source suitable products and solutions that meet customer specifications
- Source stock availability, negotiate pricing and delivery rates
Price Negotiation:
- Learn negotiation techniques and strategies to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers
- Support the sales staff in securing competitive pricing and favourable terms in order to ‘win’ the customers’ business
Order Administration:
- Gain hands-on experience in accurately placing orders with suppliers and coordinating with various departments
- Assist in ensuring alignment of purchasing activities with organisational needs and priorities
- Use multiple systems to administrate purchase orders and sales orders and ensuring there is a strong emphasis on attention to detail
Product Administration:
- Learn to maintain accurate records of data, including stock levels, deliveries, and returns
- Assist in updating product information in the company database and other relevant systems with a strong attention to accuracy
- Provide key stakeholders with relevant and meaningful information relating to ongoing tasks
General Purchasing Duties:
- Support the development and implementation of purchasing strategies and policies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and assist in facilitating procurement activities
- Undertake ad-hoc supply chain tasks that are issued from the Supply Chain management team
- Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain Team and support other team members where necessary
Apprenticeship Training:
The successful candidate will study the L3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship, which includes the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Level 3 Advanced Certificate.
The programme increases the apprentice’s competencies in procurement and raises the profile of procurement individuals will become competent in all stages of the procurement cycle and able to apply factual, procedural, and theoretical knowledge of procurement and supply. Learners will be able to complete tasks and address problems that are well-defined but may be complex and non-routine. They will understand what relevant information is required and how to interpret and review its effectiveness. Individuals will be able to use their knowledge of procurement regulations/policies to support the wider procurement team in tasks such as quotation and/or tender response evaluation, supplier database maintenance, purchase order review and conversion, and stakeholder liaison.
Duration and Working Week:
8:45am- 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8:45am-5pm Friday (45 minute lunch break)
39.5 hours per week

Overview of the Role:
The Role is an administrative role in a busy transport office working closely with drivers, management and customers. They will be working in all areas of transport administration but with an emphasis on the Pallet Business. They will accept collections and deliveries from partner depots, book in consignments, download and process jobs from the pallet portal. The role includes assisting in:
- Investigating customer queries.
- Producing and resolving issues raised on the KPI reports.
- Ensuring prompt. responses to emails and telephone calls.
- Managing claims for delays and damages raised by customers.
- Resolving customer invoice queries.
- Working with the storage team to manage inbound storage, storage picks and the dispatch of stored pallets.
- Reporting pallet discrepancies and charging depots accordingly.
- Accepting or disputing pallet queries on the pallet portal before deadline.
- Printing labels, bar codes.
- Assisting with the efficient routing of deliveries and collections.
- Planning.
- Providing cover for holiday and other absence.
- Liaise and provide support to the drivers, warehouse staff and the sales team.
The Candidate:
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated candidate, who is willing to learn and work as part of a small team. They should have experience of working in a transport office, have excellent attention to detail and be competent in IT with software skills that include Microsoft office and some form of TMS system. The candidate will be supported in learning how to use our operating systems including pallets, courier and freight.
Working hours: Shift Pattern, but generally 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday (working hours may vary depending on workload and requirements of the business). You will be required to work one in every four Saturday mornings.
Salary:
from £26,000 per annum depending on experience.

Procurement Officer at Cambridgeshire County Council

If you are interested in procurement in the public sector, please read on. This role is based in the high performing Procurement and Commercial Team at Cambridgeshire County Council. You’ll be working alongside other Procurement Officers as well as the wider Procurement and Commercial function who are a close-knit, friendly team that will support and encourage your Development.
This position is also being offered as an apprenticeship where candidates do not already have CIPS Level 4 or equivalent experience within a procurement function. You will be mentored by an experienced procurement professional who will support you to develop. You will be given study leave, work-based support and the opportunity to apply your learning. Above all else, we will invest in you so that you can grow your career in procurement.
If the position is offered as part of the apprenticeship route, then the starting salary will be 70% of the bottom point of grade SO1 (£21,105.70per annum) after one year completion you will move to 85% of the bottom point of grade SO1 (£25,628.35 per annum). Upon completion of the second year of the apprenticeship you will move to 95% (£28,643.45 per annum) and once you have finished the apprenticeship course you will be on 100% of grade S01, (£30,151 per annum).
Please note that all of the figures quoted above do not include the NJC cost of living increase which is being nationally negotiated. Once settled, this increase will be applied and backdated to the start date of your employment.
